Sustainability is moving up on agendas – and it’s no longer a nice-to-have.

Research before the coronavirus crisis struck shows that 76% of IT decision makers believed that sustainability would be a ‘highly important’ credential for businesses by 2025.

This was reflected in workforce mindsets too: an HP study revealed that 61% of employees believed that sustainability was mandatory for modern businesses. As a result, businesses were responding.

For example, 75% of European companies committed to deliver against the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) — and, 77% of decision makers said they took consideration for the environment into account when they make purchase decisions.

The coronavirus pandemic has injected new urgency into this trend — demonstrating the environmental benefits that can be achieved in a short space of time.

Many organizations have had to quickly adapt to remote working and new ways of doing business, dramatically reducing their carbon footprints and the same time as changing end-user IT needs.

Many have made this transformation without sacrificing productivity, and, as a result, are starting to view sustainability as an imperative.
